LUCIO is a sculptural wall mirror with integrated backlighting. It sits between a mirror, a wall light, and a design object, bringing warmth and visual focus to the room.
LUCIO does more than reflect. Its shape, mirrored surfaces, and integrated backlighting work together to change how the room feels, especially in the evening, giving the wall a warmer and more composed presence.
It combines all three. LUCIO works as a mirror, adds warm ambient light, and acts as a quiet focal point in the room.
Warm, calm, and inviting. During the day, LUCIO reflects the light and life of the room. In the evening, the backlighting becomes more visible and gives the space a softer, more relaxed tone.
Yes. LUCIO is designed to sit comfortably in both classic and contemporary interiors. Many owners place it alongside other well-chosen pieces and keep it for years.
LUCIO measures 108 cm wide by 121 cm high. It stands 25 mm off the wall, which allows the backlighting to spread evenly and create a soft glow behind it.
A wall around two metres wide or more usually works very well. It can also work on a smaller wall if the proportions of the room are right.
Common placements include above a sideboard or console, at the end of a dining room, in a hallway, in a living room, in an entrance area, or in a stairwell. It works best where it can act as a natural point of focus.
As a general guide, the lower edge can sit around 110 cm from the floor, or around 28 cm above a sideboard. The right height depends on the room, the furniture below it, and the sightlines in the space.
Yes. LUCIO includes 12 mirror elements, and the largest one works well for everyday use.
LUCIO is mounted 25 mm from the wall, allowing the light to spread evenly behind it. A white LED strip is integrated into the back behind a matte white diffuser, which softens the light and creates a clean glow on the wall.
The current version does not include built-in dimming or smart control. The light remains steady, but naturally feels more visible and atmospheric as the room gets darker.
Not in the current version. LUCIO uses warm white lighting chosen to suit calm, comfortable evening interiors. RGB and smart-control options may be explored in the future, but the current lighting is intentionally simple and restrained.
LUCIO has been produced in spray-finished or film-coated MDF, as well as spray-finished PVC fibreglass constructions. Other materials, including aluminium, may be considered in future versions while preserving the same overall look and feel.
LUCIO is mounted using two 6 mm screws. Installation is straightforward, and we can assist with installation on site in Reykjavík and nearby areas. It can be installed on plasterboard, timber, or masonry using the appropriate fixings.
The backlight can either be connected to a power point behind the piece or run with a discreet cable to a nearby socket, for example behind a sideboard.
If you want LUCIO connected directly into a wall outlet or hidden electrical point, an electrician may be appropriate. If you are using a standard nearby socket, no special electrical work is usually needed.
It can be installed on timber, plasterboard, and masonry, provided the correct fixings are used.
The mirrors can be cleaned with a soft microfibre cloth and water. Avoid using cleaning products on the frame.

LUCIO has been shown at DesignMarch in Reykjavík and at SaloneSatellite in Milan in 2007 and 2017. It was also nominated for the Icelandic Lighting Design Awards in 2018 by the Icelandic Illuminating Engineering Society.
LUCIO grew from the idea of bringing home the kind of atmosphere usually found in beautifully designed public interiors, places that feel warm, inviting, and hard to leave. The aim was to create a wall piece that gives the home some of that same presence through mirror, form, and light.
Owners often describe LUCIO as one of the first things guests notice, and as a piece that continues to feel relevant and beautiful many years later. Many also mention the warmth of the backlighting in the evening and the way it quietly changes the room.
